Antirassistische Bildungsbausteine für Jugendliche beim ADB

Berlin is said to be the multi cultural capital of Germany. A place where people from different cultures, religions and ways of life all come together. Yet this multiculturalism can sometimes lead to problems. A culturally diverse society that lives together with tolerance and understanding in unfortunately far from the truth. What is particularly alarming is the increase in violence among young people, particularly with regards to incidents of extreme-rightism. Consequently we consider it particularly important to reach young people and make them aware of such issues.
Young people are still developing their ideas and opinions about the world, they are also gaining social skills and may be more willing to accept other ways of living. This is particularly so during their school years and so the target audience for the ADB Youth Project is between 12-19 years old.

Our work aims to make young people aware of social problems, such as extreme-rightism, and to develop a resistance against ideas based on exclusion and discrimination. We work towards this by holding workshops or ‘Project weeks’ that are specifically catered for the relevant age group. We also encourage Schools to organise events and participate in conferences. We have a strong interest in Anti-racism youth groups and so offer these whatever support we are able to.
